Ven. Uvatemme Sumana Thero & 4 Others Further Remanded

Five including Ven. Uvatenne Sumana Thero arrested and have been remanded in connection with the incident where it is alleged that weapons and bombs were found at Bodhirajarama Viharaya at Malgawatta were ordered to be further remanded till the 30th by Colombo Additional Magistrate Lal Ranasinghe Bandara yesterday (16th).

Ven Uvatenne Sumana Thero, Thamil Chelvam, Dhammike Attanayake, Raja Balan and Subramanium Sengaeshwaran were ordered to be further remanded on an application by the CID conducting investigations.

The CID informed the Court that investigations were still continuing; several more suspects have to be arrested and requested the Court to remand the suspects. The investigations are carried out regarding 2 T-56 rifles and 56 hand grenades said to have been found at Bodhirajarama Viharaya at Maligawatta.
